December: Creative Corner
Dear Families,
Our art room is buzzing with creativity, and the hallways are filling up with colorful masterpieces that showcase your children’s imagination and hard work. Kindergarten and first grade are currently creating festive Thanksgiving turkeys, exploring shapes, colors, and textures, and will soon move on to winter-themed paper ornaments that focus on cutting, folding, and decorating skills. Second and third grade have just started their whimsical winter snow globes, experimenting with perspective and storytelling through art, and will continue with seasonal projects that highlight creativity and design. Fourth and fifth grade are finishing their intricate community pop-up tradition sculptures that celebrate traditions and community connections, and next they’ll dive into math-inspired winter tessellations, exploring repeating patterns and symmetry to create dazzling designs. Our hallways are quickly transforming into a gallery of student artwork—from turkeys to snow globes, sculptures to tessellations—each piece reflecting the joy and creativity of our young artists. Thank you for supporting your child’s artistic journey; we’re excited to continue filling our school with vibrant art that celebrates both the season and the imagination of our students.
Keep Creating,
Ms. Katherine Martin
