Families, I hope your New Year is starting off amazing!  Wishing you all a wonderful 2026!

Here are some Advanced Thinking Activities to Explore Visuals at Home! 

Examples:

★Cover up most of a historical photo, slowly reveal it, asking your child what time period they think it’s from. Ask them to predict or infer based on what they see. Then  research the historical topic together, sharing your knowledge about the topic. For possible resources, check out PebbleGo or TumbleBook Library in Classlink for DoDEA!

★ Look through a book with no words and ask students to make up a story to go along with the pictures. Some great examples are Flotsam and Tuesday by David Wiesner...both available on the ClassLink for DoDEA app MachinVIA!
