November Updates from Art
The first nine weeks in elementary art have been a joyful journey of creativity, discovery, and self-expression! Students explored the building blocks of visual art—color, line, shape, and texture through hands-on projects that sparked imagination and built confidence.
As we move into the second nine weeks, kindergarten and first grade have been diving into the world of imaginary monsters, using their creativity to bring playful creatures to life. They're now exploring how colors can express mood and emotion. Meanwhile, students in grades 2–5 have kicked off an exciting sculpture unit, working with three-dimensional forms and materials to stretch their artistic thinking.
We’re also preparing for upcoming art showcases! Student artwork will be featured during the Veterans Day performances for grades 4–5, with pieces from all grade levels proudly displayed in honor of our veterans. Plus, all students will have artwork exhibited during the Holiday Concerts in December--another wonderful opportunity to celebrate their artistic growth.
I am thrilled with the energy and enthusiasm your young artists bring to the studio each day, and I can’t wait to see where their creativity takes them next!
With Creativity and Enthusiasm,
Ms. Katherine Martin
