Rain Couldn’t Stop the Fun!
Fall Fest 2025
The rain may have drizzled, but the energy at Dexter’s Fall Fest was unstoppable. Families, students, and our dedicated community partners showed up in full force, proving that nothing can dampen our community’s spirit when it comes to celebrating our students.
From the moment the event began, the school grounds buzzed with excitement. Children laughed as they ran from game to game, families enjoyed warm drinks and treats from local vendors, and neighbors connected over the joy of the season. Students eagerly explored each activity, from turkey painting to scavenger hunts, sharing smiles and laughter with friends both old and new. The joy on their faces was contagious, and the sense of togetherness was unmistakable.
Local vendors braved the rain to offer delicious treats, creative crafts, and engaging activities that added to the festive atmosphere. Their presence helped create a vibrant and welcoming environment for all.
“Seeing our families, staff, and community partners come together even in the rain was a powerful reminder of what makes Dexter so special. Our community’s support was on full display, reminding us all of what we can accomplish when we unite around our students,” said Ms. Maureen Barefield, Assistant Principal.
The celebration reached a thrilling peak with the chili cookoff, where families and community members tasted, voted, and cheered on their favorites. Just when we thought the excitement could not get any higher, Fort Benning’s K9 unit arrived with Officer Max leading the charge. Students and families watched in awe as the highly trained Officer Max demonstrated his skills through agility exercises and obedience routines, leaving everyone inspired and impressed.
“Despite a few raindrops, Dexter Elementary’s Fall Festival was a shining example of what makes our school community so remarkable. The turnout was incredible—families, students, staff, and local partners came together with enthusiasm and heart, transforming a damp evening into a vibrant celebration of unity and joy”, said Dr. Courtney Roberson, Principal.
Fall Fest was more than just an event. It was a celebration of connection, community, and joy. Rain or shine, our Dexter families, PTO, and partners showed up for our students, creating memories that will last a lifetime. We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make this night truly unforgettable.
A special thank you goes to our amazing PTO, who coordinated the event and ensured everything ran smoothly. Their dedication and support made Fall Fest possible, and we cannot say enough about how much we love and appreciate them.
