Dexter Celebrates Read Across America
From March 4th-8th Dexter Elementary School will join the nation in celebrating Read Across America. Launched in 1998 by the National Education Association, Read Across America Day was created to encourage children to read. It has expanded over the years and is now nationally celebrated during the first week of March.
As part of our celebration, we will have dress up themes throughout the week. Show your Dexter School Spirit while we celebrate our love of reading!
Monday - Hats off to Reading - Wear your favorite hat
Tuesday - Read My Shirt - Wear a shirt for others to read
Wednesday - Reading is Active - Dress in your workout or sports wear
Thursday - Color me Read - Wear your favorite color
Friday - Book Character Day - Dress up as your favorite book character
